Copper Fog (Table 18): hard table guide

Copper Fog is the first ordinary table marked hard in this free online pinball game: red on the map, a tighter clock and more pearls for the win. The challenge is pace. Burbu blows in a diamond and a garland of small bubbles, and every big bubble has a second shell.

How the table is laid out

A pair of pop bumpers sits at the top, coral on the left and cyan on the right. The LIFT ramp climbs the left side, there are no drop targets and a magnet in the lower-left of the field can grab the ball.

Coloured rings: cyan on the lower left, coral in the lower centre and yellow in the middle centre. The big bubbles, all 2 shells, are coral on the middle left and in the lower centre, cyan on the middle right and yellow on the lower right.

Burbu blows in a diamond-shaped and a garland-shaped cluster of small bubbles, each hanging from a gold-ring anchor, with a clock bubble (+5 s) among them.

The objective

CLEAN SWEEP on a hard clock: pop every big bubble, both shells each, and both clusters before time runs out. Only matching colours pop. Paint the ball in a top lane (flippers rotate them), a ring, LIFT or with the two-flipper swap. Pop an anchor to drop its cluster.

Strategy, step by step

  1. On Copper Fog coral appears twice. The lower centre port sits right under the lower centre coral target, so crack it there and then carry the colour up to the middle left.
  2. Every LIFT climb is worth two hits here: the armed ball bursts a whole two-shell bubble, which is the best way to beat the tight clock.
  3. Copper Fog's yellow target on the lower right is out of line with its central yellow port, so trust the two-flipper swap and take the shot from the right flipper.
  4. Grab the clock bubble as early as you can; +5 s means more on a hard table.
  5. On Copper Fog the grabbing magnet sits beside the lower-left cyan port; when it catches a cyan ball, release it towards the opposite flank where the cyan target waits.

How to get 3 stars

QUICK is the tough one: keep at least a quarter of this tight clock. NO BALL LOST: no drains (each costs 5 seconds, a big bite on a hard table). WHOLE CLUSTER: pop the diamond's or the garland's gold-ring anchor.

Common mistakes

  • On Copper Fog, hitting the two coral targets with a ball still carrying cyan from the lower-left port; on this tight clock every bounce hurts.
  • Spending ramp climbs on small bubbles when two-shell bubbles are still standing.
  • Draining while chasing the lower right yellow bubble from the left flipper; take it from the right.

The first table takes one minute.

The Primordial Bubble takes a little longer.
